Evaluation of Terrestrial Water Storage Changes over China Based on GRACE Solutions and Water Balance Method

چکیده
Accurate estimation of terrestrial water storage anomalies (TWSA) is crucial for the sustainable management resources and human living. In this study, long-term TWSA estimates are reconstructed by integration multiple meteorological products balance (WB) method at 0.5° × resolution, generating a total 12 combinations different data. This scheme applied to 10 river basins (RBs) within China validated against GRACE observations GLDAS simulations from 2003 2020. Results indicate that similar seasonal characteristics can be observed between precipitation evapotranspiration with average correlation coefficient Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency metrics larger than 0.96 0.90, respectively. Three solutions variations trends over RBs, above 0.90. Similar performance also concerning root mean square error absolute metrics. Nevertheless, WB-based represent discrepancies compared simulations. Specifically, variation amplitude trend results much observations, which mainly caused inaccuracy remote sensing neglect anthropogenic activities. Comparable independently computed WB only achieved in 4 out RBs. study provide insightful suggestions an enhanced understanding improving method.

متن کاملAssessing Terrestrial Water Storage and Flood Potential Using GRACE Data in the Yangtze River Basin, China
Floods have caused tremendous economic, societal and ecological losses in the Yangtze River Basin (YRB) of China. To reduce the impact of these disasters, it is important to understand the variables affecting the hydrological state of the basin. In this study, we used Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data, flood potential index (FPI), precipitation data (Tropical Rainfa...

متن کاملDrought Analysis of the Haihe River Basin Based on GRACE Terrestrial Water Storage
The Haihe river basin (HRB) in the North China has been experiencing prolonged, severe droughts in recent years that are accompanied by precipitation deficits and vegetation wilting. This paper analyzed the water deficits related to spatiotemporal variability of three variables of the gravity recovery and climate experiment (GRACE) derived terrestrial water storage (TWS) data, precipitation, an...
